I live and work on an old wooden sailing boat always surrounded by sea and sky. It is a life on the edges; it is elemental. Inhabiting the quiet spaces I wander and notice and gather. Inspired by the lost and discarded, the broken and forgotten, the fragile and fragmented, the tattered and torn, I work with old books, paper, fabric and other ephemera to make art that is intuitive and meditative.
In making my small pieces I rescue and reuse, recycle and repair, reflect and remember. It is a quiet rebellion against our throw-away culture and the cult of new. Sometimes in the soft slow silence a new story can be told.
